WHEATLAND, Mo. – After a two-year hiatus, the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour returned to the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., Saturday with a huge crowd of enthusiastic fans on hand to see the Best of the Best in Modified racing at the Best of the Best in dirt track facilities.
Early on in Saturday night’s 35-lap Sunoco “A” Main, it became evident that the winner would likely be Jason. The question, however, was which one.
Sanders loves LA, wires USMTS field for career-first win
LA MONTE, Mo. – Rodney Sanders had been close before, but the 19-year-old from Happy, Texas, finally sealed he deal Friday night as he captured the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour event at the LA Raceway in La Monte, Mo.
After two seasons of racing under the USMTS banner in his family-owned Modified, Sanders teamed up with Bryan Rowland for an all-out assault on the 2009 campaign. Rowland got his career-first win earlier this season in a USMTS Southern Series event while Sanders recorded 13 top-five and 22 top-ten finishes this year before tasting victory for the first time Friday night.
RUTER ROMPS TO USMTS VICTORY IN MASON CITY
MASON CITY, Iowa (June 24) – Fans packed the North Iowa Fairgrounds grandstands Thursday night as the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour made their long-awaited debut at the I-35 Speedway in Mason City, Iowa.
The nation’s top dirt Modified drivers didn’t disappoint as they diced for position throughout the 25-lap main event on the lightning-fast half-mile oval.
And Ryan Ruter didn’t disappoint his followers as he led the main event from start to finish to record his first USMTS-sanctioned victory since Oct. 7, 2006, when he finished eighth in the final USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour points standings.

Titan Tire & Wheel special June 28 at Quincy Raceway
QUINCY, Ill. – IMCA Late Models will battle for $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start at Quincy Raceway’s annual Titan Tire and Wheel Shootout on Sunday, June 28.
Non-qualifiers for the top-paying event of the weekly Late Model season get $100. IMCA national, Smiley’s Racing Products State and local track points will be awarded for the topless event.
Battle Mountain doubleheader next for EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Northern Tour
BATTLE MOUNTAIN, Nev. (June 22) – Battle Mountain Raceway hosts the next EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Northern Tour twinbill, welcoming the IMCA Modified series this Friday and Saturday, June 26-27.
The grandstand and pit gates open at 4 p.m. both days. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and kids ages 6-14, and military personnel and youngsters five and under get in free. Pit passes are $25.
